Every summer we produce a couple of statement jackets. We don’t make many of each; sometimes as few as 60. They tread a fine line between clever wearability and ‘novelty’. Trust me, there’s nothing worse than ‘novelty’. This Hellebore jacket is a perfect example. The sepia toned linen background allows the beautifully executed floral design to stand out. The colours are chosen to be versatile. Our model Fred is wearing a simple white linen shirt and trousers, but this is just as much at home with jeans, a T shirt and loafers. Being linen, it will breathe and prevent you overheating in the wedding marquee you’ve been asked to. It’s cut on our more formal, tailored block to add to the overall sophistication. And we really haven’t made very many so don’t leave it too long……
