My first thought when I saw this design was Festival of Britain. It just shouts 1950s. Its Made with Liberty Fabric and is based on designs by the artist Robert Stewart who was working in the 1950s, hence the feel. He was best known for his wall coverings and figurative pieces and that's clear in this bold semi-abstract pattern. The faces have a slightly enigmatic quality that I like.
