I have several license partners in Japan, and Inoue Sei produce Simon Carter jackets for their domestic market. Each season we bring a very small number into the UK, and they always sell out. Both the fabric and the garment are manufactured there, and the quality is simply superb. The fabric is a blend of polyester and Washi (I had to look it up, too). This latter is a paper fabric, derived from the inner bark of the mulberry tree. Its highly durable and allows the fabric to have a very open weave, making it so effective at dispersing heat. Its one of the lightest jackets we've ever produced. You can hardly tell youre wearing it. My advice? Snaffle one fast.
