Here we have an archive Liberty of London print, circa 1990, exclusive to Simon Carter. It features a collection of British song birds - warblers and what have you, very naturalistically drawn and inked in muted, delicate blues and a tan or beige wash, perching amongst vestigial foliage, flowers and seed heads. Delightful in execution, with its restrained palette and sensitive linear elements, giving rise to a lively but subtly rhythmic design, it celebrates our natural world and pattern creation at its most tasteful and direct. A three button cuff tailored fit seasonal masterpiece. It is printed on a superior poplin quality rather than the more usual Tana lawn, being more substantial and less sheer, which can be an advantage on lighter ground prints.
