This design was commissioned by Liberty of London from Japanese artist Nana Shiomi. It is a traditional ukiyo-e, and it clearly uses the traditional tonal texture as a backdrop for the beautiful jumping fish. There is so much movement here; the foaming waves; the leaping fish. Even the way the eye travels up the design is deliberate and masterful. Printed on 100% Tana Lawn® cotton in Italy.
