A thing of great beauty. Birds are very artistically rendered, painted on a sweeping, grey-toned wash suggesting mist or drifting clouds. "Mists and mellow fruitfulness". A red browed finch, a waxwing and other vivid specimens perch in this atmospheric place amongst late blooming passion, and other, flowers, and the last of leaves. Some of the birds are wearing hats, of course, and there's a rather charming spotted frog for good measure. A piece to accompany the exquisite, slight melancholy of the turning season perhaps. But with some quirkiness and humour.
